July Currently

Time for a new month... Lots of things happening in July over here at the Davis house...

This week one kid is at camp... so my little one and I can have a little quality time...

Little does she know that quality time might be taking place up at school a bit this week (my room is finally clean!!)

Then, it's her birthday this week! Yup, my baby is turning 5! So, I probably need to get a bit organized for that party. Do y'all have kids with summer birthdays? Since Addison's is on the 6th we rarely have a party b/c everyone is out of town and usually one friend shows up. So, she begged for a party this year and like 1 friend has RSVPed. Figures... Makes me feel like it is a waste of a party! Oh well...

Next week, a teacher on my team and I are planning a day trip to IKEA. I love, love, love IKEA but the closest one to Nashville is Atlanta... so, we are making the drive! I'm super excited about it.... but I need to make my shopping list (if you don't go prepared it could be dangerous!).

Then, a little later in the month, my parents are taking my kids with them up North to visit my grandfather and my aunt and uncle. They are looking forward to it, I am just hoping my parents still want them to come spend the night after such a long trip in the car!

Anyhoo, I think July will be a fun-filled month! What are your plans?

  1. I LOVE IKEA!! There is one currently about 30 minutes from my house. I don't go much, but when I do go, it is a BIG DEAL. I have gone to decorate my apartment and I have also gone for my classroom. I have bought book boxes there for the Daily 5 as well as a giant leaf to put on the wall for my garden theme. Now I need to go back for this year! Enjoy your trip!

  2. Hi Laura - I think a trip to IKEA sounds great! There is one not too far from me - would you believe I have never gone?! I think that needs to be on my summer list of things to do. Birthday wises for your little one - she's adorable! Happy summer! ~ Lisa

  3. A good friend is taking me on my first "field trip" to IKEA this month, and I cannot wait! Our closest store is just north of Ann Arbor, MI--only 45 minutes away! Be sure to do a blog post about what you bought!

  4. My daughters name is Addyson too and she will be 5 in August! Heading into Kindergarten this year! Crazy how time flies by so quickly! You were one of the two to comment on my blog first, so if you give me your email I will send you a copy of my teacher planner. I would really appreciate feedback on what you think, any mistakes and if it is easy to print with the directions. I know it's summer, so if you can't swing it let me know! Thanks!

Head on over to my blog and check out my new teacher planner! I am also doing a giveaway!

    1. I would love to check out your planner: tattlingtotheteacher@gmail.com.

  5. Have fun at IKEA! I live less than an hour from the Atlanta store but it's still an all day affair to go there! Might need to go shopping myself for a new classroom rug :)
