monday made it and a sneak peek!

I have been working super hard this week on my classroom. Our school doesn't start until Aug. 1, but I am planning on vacation next week so I want to get all my organization done and over with! This week I will finish up... Here is a little sneak peek combined with my Monday made it:

These are fabric covered corkboards! I am loving them! I got the idea from this pin! I hung them right by the door for reminders.

So, I really, really wanted to go to IKEA and buy these amazingly cheap stools ($5.99/piece) for all my centers. So, I would need about 14 stools.

The closest IKEA is 4 hours away. No bueno.
Shipping from IKEA $40. Still no bueno.

Then I saw this in genius idea on pinterest. This bucket seat is made from a 5 gallon paint bucket, fabric,  stuffing for the cushion, and a staple gun! After I made 14 of these (with the help of my mom!), I still came in at $5 a stool. So, they were cheaper and totally worth it. If you want to see a step by step tutorial click here

What I love most about these seats is they are small enough to slide right under center tables and they are stackable space savers!

I have decided to do my calendar a little different this year. I usually use one of those pre-made calendar boards and each day we  fill in the info that is pertinent. Instead, I am going to use this calendar. There is space to put post its about things happening in the classroom, pictures of upcoming birthdays, etc. I do still want to incorporate some kind of calendar math though. So, I plan on purchasing:

A friend of mine introduced me to this calendar math that you display on the screen. It has a ? of the day with money, time, and addition/subtraction practice. For only $20, I'd call this a bargain!
Here is a little sneak peak of some bulletin boards I got done this week. I used some wrapping paper from the dollar bin as the background on a few of these and really only got the bunting done. I need to get to work on the rest.

I'll be back at it again this week, until it all comes together! Check out everyone else's Monday Made Its:

Favorite Pin Friday

How can I resist a linky party having to do with pinterest? I just can't... So, I am linking up with Cara from the First Grade Parade. I can't wait to show you some of my favorite pins this week!

I am loving these dresses! {I am a little dress obsessed... You will rarely see me wear anything else!}

What about these adorable teacher gifts... I may have to do this at the beginning of the year or for teacher birthdays this year! Tuck and Cover made these for V-Day, but this is anytime great gift!!!

I am probably going to make this... very very soon! Yum! The Meta Picture gives some picture directions for how to here.

And here are a couple of my favorite school pins this week. I will absolutely be fitting these little projects in next week :)

Couldn't find the link for this one but my door will totally look something like this...

Deal Wise Mommy posted about this a while back, not sure who the original poster was, but I will making these this week too! Thinking about covering with some super cute duck tape? What do you think?

And here are a few words I'll leave you with:

A funny posted by the Berry:
I have to agree with this one... ha!

Of Anselm originally posted this Roal Dahl quote but I couldn't find the exact link. I love it.. mainly because Roald Dahl might be my favorite author!

monday made it!

I didn't blog at all last week. Took a short break from doing a lot of things...

I enjoyed pure summer- you know the kind when you wake up late and do as you please! Yes, that is summer!
Of course, this "laziness" (as some would call it... the hubs included) did come with some downfalls...

I had a tendency to run to yoga and I might have taken a few days off from the the y... Hoping to catch up this week!

I did get a lot of this done though:
Park Time!
Pool time! (And yes, my daughter is breastfeeding her doll... I couldn't help but take the picture! bahaha)
Yumminess! Cookie Brownies! Try them, you won't be disappointed!
Sister time!

Happy 4th of July! (Also a made it... how cute are these 2!)

By the end of the week I did start to get myself together. I didn't have a choice. There was the 4th of July and then my baby turned 4 on Saturday! I just can't believe how big she is getting! Some of my made it this week comes from preparing for her birthday:

Rainbow cupcakes with rainbow cake! These were a hit!

The Princess!

Her extra special flip-flop bows!
She had to have special flip flops because she got to get her very first mani/pedi!
Of course, after the mani/pedi and she put the shoes on, there was a realization that she couldn't actually see the toes because the bows were so big! She wasn't very happy with that!

So, we survived the birthday and I even got a little something done for my classroom. This was inspired by Alisha at the Bubbly Blonde Teacher. Last Monday she used some burlap in a way I never thought.

Paint it! Check it out:

I love this! I am definitely hanging above my writing center space. It was really easy. I actually made almost the whole thing while the kids watched Annie (a fave of mine). I cannot wait to hang this in my classroom...

In fact, I will be there this week.. preparing for the new year! I need to organize in a big bad way!

Hopefully, I will keep you posted this week... but... no promises!
