a TREAT for you

I love this time of year...

Time to order Christmas cards and teacher gifts! I always try to put extra thought into the teacher gifts I give (mainly because I work with these people!). I am super lucky that my son can go to school where I work, but the pressure is on!

I love to get personalized gifts and treat.com is the perfect place to get them! At first glance you might be thinking that treat.com is a card site. And... you would be correct..but...

Treat.com is also full of personalized gifts! Check out the selection they have of personalized stationary, coffee mugs, and i-phone cases. I actually got my son's first grade teacher some personalized stationary last year and she loved it!

Here are some of my fave adorable stationary choices:

Of course, they do still have some awesome personalized one-to-one cards that can be holiday or anytime cards. Last Christmas I ordered personalized cards for my whole team and they were super impressed :)

Here are some of my personal faves this year:

Something fun and new to treat this year is many of the cards on the site have a digital option. This means your can send the cards through email for a little less $$.

To learn more about all the goodies Treat offers, join @ResourcefulMom for a #TreatCheer Twitter party tomorrow afternoon. RSVP for the party here.

So, here is the best part...

You can win a set of personalized stationary and a personalized mug just by checking out their website!     All you have to do is visit the link in the Rafflecopter below and comment as to what your favorite holiday card is!

Monday Made It... giveaway!

My kids are freaking hilarious! I knew they were funny... but over the past couple weeks they keep impressing me with their wit.

I got to listen to them this morning (without them knowing). I was cracking up!

Addison (3) somehow convinced Jaydon (7) to babysit her doll. baha! I was cracking up! I love being home with these two-- even when they drive me nuts!

Anyway, on to the made it portion...

I have yet to get to a school made it, but have a couple projects planned for this week that are school related! I have been able to get a big order back from Vistaprint for next year... I posted about it the other day here.

Here are my fun home projects this week:

#1: I used my other shadowbox (from last week) and made a matching shadowbox for Addison's room.

This is from Addison's first dance recital. It was on May 31. It was freakin adorable!

Precious, right?!
I am in love with these shadow boxes! I think the kids are proud of them too!!

#2: Addison has a total freak out last week when I was cleaning her room and threw away some of her precious drawings. I mean they are cute, but there are ALOT of them and they are just stacking up on her dresser. So, I told her we would make something to display her work in her room.

Fishing wire and mini clothespins (from my Michaels shopping last week!) Now she can hang up some pictures. We did a little art today too! We didn't realize until after the painting was done that we put her feet on the paper wrong (for the butterfly above!) Oh, well! Jaydon drew the middle picture for her-- so sweet :)
When we were looking on pinterest and saw the ballet dress with the skirt made out of handprints she was so excited:

We only had black construction paper so we made it work. I love how she writes her name! Too cute!
#3: I have been seeing this pin on pinterest and fell in love! So I made one for my family...

I made this little printable and got it printed at staples for $2. I already had the frame... so it is a steal compared to buying it on etsy!!

By now your probably thinking... hey, it said giveaway on the title! Yes! For one of you lucky followers I will make the adorable printable above! Enter using the rafflecopter below by Wednesday! I will email my lucky winner for their specific details and then email you the print after I create it!

I love shoes! I wish every time I went shopping it was shoe shopping... unfortunately, I do more shopping for my kids than for me. I especially can't resist shoes for my little girl! They are sooo cute!

When I do shop for myself though I am on a constant search for cute and comfy shoes. I am NOT wearing heels to chase 6 year olds all day! So, look at these adorable shoes I just got from onlineshoes.com.
Ignore the mess behind the shoe!!
These are super cute, soft, and comfy! Plus, they are in a fun color! I am all about a flat that is colored! What are your favorite work shoes? Do you need a new pair? Then, you are just in time for a:

Onlineshoes.com and Patagonia are bringing you this fabulous giveaway! One lucky blog follower will be picking one pair of their favorite shoes from Patagonia.

Patagonia and Onlineshoes.com have teamed up for this fun giveaway to promote an amazing cause! For every pair of Patagonia shoes purchases on Onlineshoes.com from today through October 22, Patagonia is donating $10 to the Conservation Alliance.

The Conservation Alliance’s mission is to engage businesses to fund and partner with organizations to protect wild places for their habitat and recreation values. They direct their funding to community-based campaigns to protect threatened wild habitat, preferably where outdoor enthusiasts recreate.  Since its inception in 1989, the Alliance has contributed more than $11.2 million to grassroots conservation groups throughout North America.  Alliance funding has helped save more than 29 million acres of wild lands; protect 2,700 miles of rivers; stop or remove 25 dams; designate five marine reserves; and purchase nine climbing areas.

Junie B. Jones Giveaway!!!

So... it's done! Junie B. has a Peep in her Pocket: A Novel Study is up for sale on my TPT and TN stores!

It is 40 pages of fun with a huge focus on vocabulary. There are words chosen from each chapter with activities to be completed whole group, individually, and with partners. There is also a synonym/antonym center activity and fraction dominoes with a printable edition. My favorite part of this unit is the culminating activity... it is a tic-tac-toe with a twist. The activities are on printable circles and students will choose from a pocket chart which ones they will complete... Here is an example:
My kids are going to love being able to choose their final project and I can't wait until the end of the week when we have presentations!

How would you like to get a free copy of this awesome novel study?? Well how about a

The mall, a runaway baby, a nap, and a GIVEAWAY!

That is basically how my day went today.

For Christmas I got a sweet gift card to Nordstroms and had purchased a $90 (what was I thinking!) shirt. It was a very nice shirt until I went to iron it last week and found little holes all in the front of it. Being that I live a solid 30 min from Nordstroms, I just today got around to returning the shirt. I had both kids in tow and thought (for some strange reason) that I was going to find a cute replacement.

Deep down I knew that I was wrong before we even left the house. We literally haven't left the house all week (ya know with the whole potty training thing). I gave up today. Diapers it is...

Nordstroms by the way is one of Addison's favorite places. She always seems to get a new pair of shoes whenever we go (which isn't very often). My sister and myself cannot resist the cute happenings in the kids shoe department there! I fully intended on buying her a new pair today... but instead of being the sweet, adorable angel she was when we left the house she turned into a....

RUNNER!

That's right! She tried to run away... twice! I was that crazy lady chasing her 2 year old around Nordstroms. Poor Jaydon (who actually deserved a goodie) had to deal with this and then come home to an immediate NAPTIME. I will have to reward him for his good behavior later... maybe we can sneak out without Addison. Ya know, when the dad gets home...

Needless to say my day is shot... Tomorrow is the last day of my break! Poo!!

In other news, I finished ALL my activity packets for long vowel combinations and diphthongs. There are 9 packets posted in my TPT and TN stores. I also put them in zip files for a cheaper price. There is also the chance that you could.....

That's right, I said WIN! Here is how to win:

Catch up and my very first GIVEAWAY!

I am calling this my night of blogging catch up! I know I have actually blogged this week but I was too lazy to get my camera and upload photos.

The other day I blogged about a fun contraction activity and I just updated the post with photos of their fun!

Now, for the rest of week. We read and watched Somebody Loves You, Mr. Hatch, and we made some text-to-self connection and character analization of Mr. Hatch using my freebie unit on Mr. Hatch. Check it out here. Of course, the first day we started Mr. Hatch, it was Monday and the copy machine was broken--grrr! So, on the fly, I came up with a quick activity with heart shaped doilies. The kids wrote about what they could do to make someone feel loved. It turned out really cute...

We also read Valentine's Day is... by Gail Gibbons [I just love her]!
I didn't think the kids knew much about what Valentine's Day was or where it came from and it was apparent when we made this graphic organizer:

I got a lot of "I get candy" and I even had one kid write that the skunk is a symbol of this holiday [later she told me she read that in a fiction book!]. Here are some of the better ideas and new learning we had:

Today we made an amazing craft that I pinned here. The kids absolutely LOVED it!! It was really easy and it looks adorable (not sure I will be taking it down anytime soon!)

I couldn't resist making a few more for my house:

Last night I went into to Target to get diapers and found this in the dollar bin:

Valentine scrapbook paper- 8 sheets for a dollar. The best part is I was about to make another stop at Michaels for this! Winning!!!

Last, but not least, to celebrate my 99 followers and my very first complete unit on sale now:

I am having my very first giveaway!

So here is how you enter:
1. Follow my blog!
2. Follow my Teachers Pay Teachers Store.
3. Blog about my giveaway!

Leave one comment for each of the above and I will be choosing a random winner by Tuesday night! Remember to leave your name and email in your comments! Thanks so much for your support and good luck!
