hello makeovers

In the spirit of distraction, I've been working hard on updating quite a few of my ORIGINAL products. I've takent them from that old Word format (which was miserable to edit!) to an updated Powerpoint format. To celebrate... I'm having a sale:

All products made with vowel teams are on sale! Click on the picture above to go to my store.

Also, did you notice my new and improved blog? I am in love with the design! Thanks to Kassie by Designs by Kassie. I couldn't have worked with anyone easier and FASTER!

Anyway, just wanted to drop a quick note! Have a great night!

Secret's Out!

I didn't want to say anything...

I mean I know it is not really socially acceptable... but.... I've been listening to Christmas music for a week now! I have been keeping it under wraps, because I have been seeing tons of facebook posts that look like this:

I guess now it's okay though... ya know... Now that it's December! A new month brings a new currently. Link up with Farley here.

So I started writing this earlier today and then got caught by the hubs.. and drug.... I mean literally drug away to do my least favorite holiday duty... tree trimming!

I mean, I love spending time with my family, but I absolutely hate dislike (really really dislike) putting the tree up and decorating. I guess since I mostly have to do it by myself while the kids are messing around and the hubs watches... it becomes a chore.

But, now it's over-- thank goodness! I don't, however, dislike decorating at school, but still haven't done that either! Oh well!

In other news, I am sure by now you have heard about the Cyber Monday (and Tuesday) sale TPT has going tomorrow!
Click the pic to go straight to my TPT store!
You might be wondering what you could get.... and here are a few of my favorite things (just happens to be on the radio right now...hehe)

In the mood for math....

Do you teach with Treasures?

How about Journeys?

Of course there is LOTS more out there in my store and in the other fab sellers on TPT. I need to go get my wishlist ready!! :) Happy shopping... Only 20 days til Christmas break!!

I am so excited because it only took 7 school days for my kids to make it past 20 minutes for their Read to Self!!! I was even able to get a few of my "beginning of the year" running records done!!! This is the first year I have been able to implement D5 very early, correctly, and successfully!! We started learning Word Work games this week and now that we have gotten met our reading stamina goal we can start working on our Read to Someone stamina! Love it!!!

I am in love with this amazing graphing mat that a co-worker referred to me!

It is perfect fit for the inside of my door and gives us a fun way to graph info about ourselves. About a month back I was able to get a freebie for weekly graphing prompts from Teacher's Clubhouse. It is a.ma.zing!!! I was so lucky to get it for free, but it is only $6... So, go grab it!!!

I am loving that my kiddies (at home) are watching Full House on Nick@Nite. I LOVED this show when I was a kid-- who am I joking... I still love it!!

Every year I do this activity and I ADORE it with this printable in the middle. I found this on pinterest and knew I had use it! Here is how my activity works:

1. Write all your students names on sentence strips.
2. Cut apart names, then cut each name into a puzzle and place in individual ziploc baggies.
3. Give each student a bag.
4. Have students glue the name they get to a blank white paper. {This happens after they put the puzzle together and figure out whose name they got.}
5. The student who puts the puzzle together draws a portrait of the friends name they got.

Very very easy and great community builder, everyone wants to do their best when drawing their friend.

Happy Teacher, Happy Learning!

Yay for Teacher Appreciation Week! It always feels good to feel appreciated... it doesn't hurt that today marks 14.5 days remaining in the school year! We started our 20 day countdown last week during SAT 10... there's one way to celebrate testing... lol

Last year I hung balloons from the ceiling and we popped one everyday to get our countdown on... But, this year, I can't hang stuff from my ceiling. (It has kinda been a bummer all year!) I still wanted to countdown with balloons so my team-mate and I decided to hang the balloons in between our classrooms and countdown together.

We are having so much fun doing this-- and the kids love it!

It is hard to keep it interesting at this point in the year, but check out this cute activity we did last week...

We were reading the story "Cool Jobs" in our reading series so we completed job applications about what we wanted to be when we grew up. They were adorable! You can check out this fun stuff from the "Cool Jobs" packet out of my Treasures supplements:

I am still working on finishing up Unit 6 in Treasures. Then I am going to go back and get Unit 1 completed for next year. You can get a deal if you shop this week.

Big sale! Click the sale button to visit my TPT page.

Also, I have 30% off all items on Teacher's Notebook.

Have a happy teacher week!

Currently... only a few hours to a super sale!

I love currently. I missed it last month... I've been really really busy!
Anyhoo, my kids are addicted to electronics! One is sitting across the room on the ipad (he is addicted to Wild Kratts- an app he bought with his tooth fairy money! lol). The other one is on the nook (at least she's reading... and btw she is reading Pete the Cat!)
As I am writing this the hubs just woke up from his so-called "cat nap".

Everything else is pretty self-explanatory... on to pet peeves:
My number one pet peeve is SNORING (check out what I was listening to during my Currently). My husband's snoring is getting worse. Some nights its not too bad but most of the time it drives me bonkers. Especially when we are in the living room and he could go get in bed, but he won't. Even our three year old says, "Daddy, stop snoring! It's annoying!!" lol

Boys do make annoying noises. My son is starting the noises too. His noises are mainly made to annoy his little sister... they seem to happen right about the time we're in the car!

My school pet peeve is crowding. I'm sure you've experienced this at the beginning of the year... multiple children walking up to you to ask a question, soon your surrounded... the walls are closing in... ahhhh! I hate that... we have to break that behavior, and QUICK!

So, you might of heard of this big sale going on... tomorrow!

I am also having 30% in my Teacher's Notebook store. I am sure there are some fab finds out there... I already have a few things in my wish list, bout to go add some more.

While your shopping tomorrow, download this fun freebie:

Click the pic to go to my TPT store.

My kids understood this concept (comparing numbers to 120) very quickly, but when I ask them to verbalize the equation, they are stumbling over their words. This little game can be played whole group or small group. Hopefully your kiddos will find it helpful too.

Have a Super Sunday tomorrow! I can't wait to see your purchases. I'll share mine when I make my final selections!

You might be a bad blogger if...

You might be a bad blogger if...
you almost go a WHOLE month without posting! Especially when that month is December and you actually had some fun stuff to post about!

Like:
Our Merry "Cat"mas Week with Pete and Splat! We has lots of fun with this!

You might also be a bad blogger if...

you don't actually log on to your blogger account for weeks... yah, that's bad! I have just been so super busy with my kiddos (I mean my actual, biological kids!)

We went to ICE... without the hubs (who had to work!) That was a single-mom experience I NEVER want to have again! If you're a single mom, you know what I'm talking about!!!

Jaydon started back to basketball this month! I don't how it happens, his team seems to get the 8 a.m. games every Saturday!! grrr... I do love watching the games though!

He's the blond in the middle!
He's got the ball!

Also, taking care of these cuties... Look at them before we went to see Santa! (Yes, that was one of those Saturdays where I shamelessly took my kids to work for a few hours before Santa!)

You might be a bad blogger if...

if you didn't tell your friends about New Years sales!

Woo.... glad I am missing this one... because I am telling you now!

Hope y'all have had a wonderful break! I am glad I get one more week with my babies :)
